Split, Croatia

Split is a vibrant coastal city located in Croatia, specifically in the region of Dalmatia. It is the second-largest city in Croatia, after Zagreb, and serves as an important cultural, economic, and transportation hub in the country. One of the main attractions in Split is the Diocletian’s Palace, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The Archaeological Museum showcases artefacts from the Roman era, while the Gallery of Fine Arts exhibits works by Croatian and international artists. The Croatian National Theatre in Split hosts a variety of performances, including opera, ballet, and theatre.

In addition to its cultural and historical attractions, Split offers a lively nightlife with plenty of bars, clubs, and live music venues. The city’s cuisine is also a highlight, with a focus on fresh seafood, Mediterranean flavours, and local specialities like “pašticada” (a traditional Dalmatian beef stew) and “peka” (a dish prepared under a bell-shaped lid).
