ATTENTION!! Ryanair German pilots threaten new strike on Wednesday

UNIONS REPRESENTING PILOTS and cabin crew of airline Ryanair in Germany have called for a strike on Wednesday over better pay and working conditions. Pilots in Germany are to strike for 24 hours over the failure to make progress in talks with the airline

Their union, Vereinigung Cockpit (VC), said that all outgoing Ryanair flights from Germany will be affected. It has accused the Irish airline’s management of failing to improve an offer to the pilots and refusing to discuss arbitration.

“Despite the clear signal sent with the strike in early August there’s still standstill at the negotiation table,” Ingolf Schumacher, VC’s pay negotiator, said in a statement.

The strike, which is expected to last 24 hours, would involve some 400 Ryanair pilots and co-pilots in Germany.

About 1,000 flight personnel in the country have also called for a work stoppage on Wednesday.

“The salaries are so low they do not guarantee a sufficient living wage,” said Christine Behle of the German services union in a separate statement.

Ryanair has not informed about canceled flights yet, but it might affect flights to/from Germany tomorrow.
