Changes in FINNAIR flights to ASIA and RUSSIA

Due to the closure of Russian airspace, Finnair is making changes to flights to Asian destinations and Russia.

Finnair have cancelled flights to Japan, Korea and China until 6 March 2022, and all flights to Russia until 28 May 2022. Also, Seoul flights AY41/42 on 9/10 March and 11/12 March are cancelled.

As of 9 March 2022, Finnair fly to Tokyo Narita four times a week out of Helsinki, avoiding the Russian airspace. The flight time is approximately 13 hours and the flights connect smoothly to European network. You can check the schedules through the booking engine on website or in Finnair App.

Finnair continue to seek solutions for our Asian routes to avoid Russian airspace, and will communicate more on Monday 7 March, once further plans have been defined.

Finnair continue flying from Helsinki to Bangkok, Phuket, Singapore and Delhi and from Stockholm Arlanda to Phuket. They will avoid using the Russian airspace which lengthens the travel time by some hours depending on the route and for example the weather conditions. Finnair have normal meal service on these flights, and due to the longer travel time, they recommend you also take some snacks with you.

Airline is changing the flight schedule for our Bangkok flights to allow for smoother connections to our European network. New departure times are at 00:45 local time from Helsinki and at 22:35 local time from Bangkok. This change is valid until 30 April 2022.

Safety is always airline`s first priority. They are following the situation closely and will update any new information on this page. Finnair is sorry for any inconvenience this may cause you and do best to minimise the effects to you.
