The Berber name Tageldit-n-Murakush meaning “The Kingdom of Murakush” (The English name “Morocco” originates from the Berber name Murakush which means “Land of God”) and the Arabic name al-Mamlakah al-Maghribiyah المملكة المغربية meaning “The Western Kingdom” are commonly used as alternate names.
