RYANAIR launches Malta summer 2018 schedule with 12 new routes

Ryanair today (10 Sep) launched its Malta summer 2018 schedule with 12 new routes, including 3 new summer services, with an additional aircraft to be based in Malta next year. Ryanair’s 54 routes in total will help deliver 2.5m customers p.a. through Malta Airport next year.

Ryanair is Europe’s favorite airline, operating more than 1,600 daily flights from 72 bases, connecting 189 destinations in 30 countries and operating a fleet of more than 300 new Boeing 737-800 aircraft. Ryanair has recently announced firm orders for a further 280 new Boeing 737 aircraft, as well as options for 100 more Boeing 737 MAX 200s, which will enable Ryanair to lower fares and grow traffic from 90m this year to over 150m p.a. in 2024. Ryanair currently has a team of more than 9,500 highly skilled aviation professionals and has an industry leading 30-year safety record.

Ryanair’s Malta S18 schedule will deliver:

  • 5th based aircraft ($500m investment)
  • 12 new routes: Aberdeen (2 weekly), Barcelona (4), Bratislava (2), Paris Beauvais (2), Gothenburg (1 weekly),

Porto (2), Pescara (2), Seville (2), Tallinn (1 weekly), with Belfast (2 weekly), Naples (2 weekly) and

Riga (2 weekly) continuing from the winter.

  • More flights to Madrid and Venice Treviso (3 to 4 weekly)

Ryanair will base a fifth aircraft in Malta next summer, a total investment of $500m. I am also pleased to note that we have started discussions with Air Malta on potential areas of cooperation.
