Turkish Airlines to offer free Wi-Fi for all passengers

Turkish Airlines has announced plans to offer passengers free, unlimited Wi-Fi access across its entire fleet within the next two years.

As part of this initiative, the airline will upgrade its current fleet with the latest in-flight connectivity (IFC) technologies and ensure new aircraft are equipped with the most advanced software.

This upgrade will allow Turkish Airlines to expand its current IFC service, available on most of its planes, to the entire fleet. This means all passengers will enjoy unlimited and faster IFC service at no additional cost.

Turkish Airlines has stated it is “open to collaboration” with all suppliers and is “actively negotiating” with both local and international providers that can deliver the best IFC solutions for its fleet, to provide free Wi-Fi to all passengers by the end of 2025.

A spokesperson for the airline mentioned that Turkish Airlines will support Turkish companies in developing connectivity solutions.

The airline has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with TCI Aircraft Interiors, a provider of aviation products, and Turksat, a satellite technology firm.

The spokesperson added: “The signing of the MoU underscores Turkish Airlines’ commitment to leveraging national capabilities and supporting Turkish companies in establishing a presence in the IFC sector.
