Why it matters
- More choice & lower fares: With two A321neos based at BTS, Wizz Air says capacity and competition will rise across city-break and sun routes (Spain, Italy, Balkans, Nordics). Expect sharp opening fares (from €17.99–€24.99) on select dates.
- Stronger connectivity for Slovakia: Wizz Air highlights service across Slovakia’s three main airports and expects a major bump in BTS traffic next year.
- Regional links: The Niš route broadens access to southern Serbia and creates another low-cost alternative to Vienna-area travel flows.
Quick planning tips
- Launch months: First wave mid-November; second wave mid-December (ideal for pre-Christmas city breaks and winter sun).
- Baggage & extras: Base fares cover a small personal item only. Add a trolley/cabin bag, checked bag, or WIZZ Go/Plus bundles at booking to avoid last-minute fees.
- Getting to Vienna: BTS is a practical budget alternative for Vienna trips; shuttle and bus links run roughly an hour to Vienna city
