Wizz Air Launches 2 New Routes from Kyiv, Ukraine to GREECE
Wizz Air, the fastest growing airline in Europe and a leading low-cost carrier in Ukraine, announced today two new routes from Kyiv to Athens and Thessaloniki in Greece. The low-fare connection Kyiv-Athens is commencing on May 21 with 2 weekly frequencies, on Tuesdays and Saturdays, while flights on a route Kyiv-Thessaloniki are commencing on May 20 and will be operated 2 times per week, on Mondays and Fridays.
Wizz Air Hungary Ltd. is a Hungarian low-cost airline with its head office on the property of Budapest Liszt Ferenc International Airport in Budapest. The airline typically uses secondary airports serving many cities across Europe, Israel and the United Arab Emirates. It has the largest fleet of any Hungarian airline, although it is not a flag carrier, and currently serves 35 countries. Being the pioneer of high quality and lowest fares air travel on the Ukrainian market in the past decade, Wizz Air continues to expand and diversify its Ukrainian low-fare network in 2019. With these two new routes connecting Ukraine with Greece, Wizz Air is now offering a total of 45 routes to 13 countries from 3 Ukrainian airports in 2019.
In 2018, Wizz Air carried over 1.5 million passengers on its low fare routes to and from Ukraine, which represents more than 107% growth compared to the similar period last year and makes Wizz Air the largest low-cost carrier in Ukraine.
