Turkish Airlines Breaks Occupancy Record

Strong recovery by Turkish Airlines. Last Friday (15 July 2022), Turkish Airlines had the busiest day in its history, with more than 260,000 passengers carried and a striking 87% occupancy rate.

“Yesterday, we hosted more than 260,000 passengers with an occupancy rate of over 87%. We had the busiest day in Turkish Airlines history,” the carrier’s senior vice president for media relations, Yahya Ustun, said on Twitter.

Turkish Airlines recently announced its June 2022 traffic results. Carrying a total of 6.9 million passengers, Turkish Airlines’ domestic load factor during June 2022, was 87.2% and the international load factor was 83.2%.

Total passengers carried during the January-June period was at 30.9 million.

Turkish Airlines increased the number of destinations it flies to from 311 in June 2019 to 335 last month. The carrier also widened its fleet from 338 aeroplanes to 380.

In 2021, Turkish Airlines was ranked 6th best airline in Europe by Skytrax. Moreover, in the same year, the carrier was awarded prizes for Best Airline in Southern Europe, Best Business Class Lounge in Europe, Best Economy Class in Europe, and it also received the COVID-19 Airline Excellence Award.
