World`s Best Airlines For 2022 by AIRLINERATINGS.COM

The world’s Best Airlines for 2022 have been named by, the world’s only safety, product, and COVID rating website, and the airline of the year is Qatar Airways.

The Doha-based airline nudged out Air New Zealand, Etihad Airways and Korean Air for the top spot in Best Airlines for 2022 followed by Singapore Airlines, Qantas and Virgin Australia. has announced along with its Airline Excellence Awards its Top Twenty Airlines in the World for 2022.

Qatar Airways is being honoured for its innovation, product, and industry leadership as well as its commitment to keeping the world’s critical long-haul air routes open during COVID-19 over the past 30 months which has resulted in the airline posting a record profit, despite losing money on many capped flights.

Qatar Airways was ranked number 1 because of its cabin innovation, passenger service, and its commitment to continue to operate throughout the COVID pandemic.

Air New Zealand which took the second position in the Top Twenty, is always at the forefront of airline awards because of its constant innovation and industry leadership.

In the third position is Eithad Airways, which took our inaugural Best Environmental Airlines Award for its leadership in the 787 Greenline program.

In the fourth spot is Korean Air, followed by Singapore Airlines and Qantas.

Singapore Airlines was also awarded Best First Class and Best Lounges.

Virgin Australia (below) was in seventh place and also won Best Cabin Crew.

Taiwan’s EVA (below) was named 8th in the Top Twenty Airlines followed by Turkish Airlines in the 9th spot. Turkish Airlines has also been named the Best Airline in Europe.

In 10th position in the Top Twenty Airlines is Japan’s All Nippon Airlines.

Best Low-Cost Airlines – Top 10

The AirlineRatings top 10 LCCs for 2022 are, in alphabetical order: Allegiant Air, AirAsia, EasyJet, Jetstar, Flair, Fly Dubai, Ryanair, Scoot, Southwest and VietJet Air. The Airline Excellence Awards which honour the Best Airlines, are compiled by global editors with over 100 years of industry experience using an objective value-based methodology. The criteria include safety and product ratings, passenger reviews, fleet age, profitability, and environmental commitment.
