TAP informs customers that they are receiving fraudulent e-mail notifications claiming that they are entitled to compensation due to a delayed flight. This notification directs you to a fraudulent link. Customers who receive this message are advised to delete it without clicking on the link.

Last month, Portugal’s flag carrier TAP informed customers that hackers had stolen some of their personal information and published it on the dark web, despite the fact that all payment details appeared to be safe.

TAP Air Portugal (TAP) discovered unauthorised third-party access to certain IT systems in August.  TAP was prepared for such a scenario, and has immediately assembled a team of internal and external IT and forensic experts to conduct a thorough investigation and prevent additional damage.

The intrusion was contained at an early stage, thanks to cyber security systems and quick actions by the internal IT team, before any disruption to operational processes occurred.  TAP operations are running smoothly in all areas.  Unfortunately, some data was stolen by hackers and is now being made public.  Data affected may include name, contact information, demographic information, and frequent flyer number. Each affected customer’s information may differ.
