Some EU airlines no longer require face masks

After the majority of European countries began to withdraw their entry criteria and other restrictions intended to prevent the spread of the Coronavirus and its new strains, all people interested in visiting other countries are now subject to lighter travel regulations.

Furthermore, numerous European nations’ airlines have abandoned some of the COVID-related measures, such as the compulsory face mask requirement.

According to the Schengen Visa Info following airlines dropped the face mask requirement:

easyJet

easyJet has lifted the compulsory face mask requirement for a large number of flights.

According to the airline’s announcement, face coverings are no longer required on flights between Northern Ireland, England, Isle of Man, Jersey, Sweden, Denmark, Switzerland, Gibraltar, Iceland, Poland, and Hungary.

Jet2

The British airline Jet2 was among the first airlines to abolish the mandatory face mask requirement.

The airline has confirmed that citizens are no longer required to wear face masks at the British carrier’s domestic airports or flights.

Norwegian

Compulsory face coverings are no longer required on Norwegian network flights; thus, travellers are eligible to choose whether they want to wear a face mask on board or not.

However, the airline notes that the use of face masks may still be required at specific destinations; therefore, travellers are required to check policies before travelling.

British Airways

British Airways permits citizens to fly without being obliged to wear a face mask if the territory they’re travelling to doesn’t keep such rules in place.

“For destinations where we have established that the wearing of a face covering is not mandated, you are able to make a personal choice, and we kindly request everyone respects each other’s preferences,” the airline notes in the statement.

Other European airlines, including  Lufthansa and Air France, have said that they would resume preserving mask requirements on all of their operations in accordance with French and German coronavirus rules.

The Dutch carrier KLM said last month that it will no longer enforce mask requirements, but that it is “highly recommended” that passengers do so.
